St. Elphege Folk Group - Hosanna

Lovely floating UK acoustic/electric private Xian folk with ethereal female vocals on mainly self-composed songs, has similarities to Beggars Hill and Aslan, particularly on the gorgeous ‘Mother’s Song’. UK prog/folk/psych guidebook Galactic Ramble states: “This is a little gem... With gentle acoustic backing and tranquil, almost whispered vocals, the band creates a spellbinding atmosphere on a broad range of material”. Very homemade packaging: sleeve is made from light blue card rather than the standard white/brown inner cover, with white lettering and art design on the front and thick black lettering on the back that gives song titles and brief notes on band/recording. Album labels are equally primitive (one side has the Mecolico stamp on it to denote a tiny pressing), catalogue number is SEH LP 100 (i.e. St Elphege/Hosanna) EX/M- copy..Recommended!
