Discoteca Pax J-409 (Spain LP 1968)
[cover/record] Near Mint (NM or M-) / Near Mint (NM or M-)
Perhaps the rarest spanish jazz album ( and one of the europeans!) ... mono issue in stunning conditions for an 1968 Album. contains " Misa en Jazz" in one side and "Historia del Jazz" on B- side.. full laminated flipback unique spanish cover of this modal jazz Mexican percussionist. Misa en Jazz , was not recorded in a church, it was inspired in the structure of a messe ... instruments are trombone, trumpet, sax, alto sax, piano, organ, drums, bass and choirs.to give you an idea, tracks on this A-side are : Introduction, Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Santo, Aleluya ( sincopated blues)...but the second side is not "religious" inspirated... it's called "Jazz History"...tracks on B-side ( translated) are: Red light district, White Rat, blue notes, Au revoir Paris ( bye bye Paris), Miriam, Misty... the record was issued in a religious label , and problably due to the B side , was deleted shortly, or completly banned....because all the best jazz collectors are not aware of his existence! My second copy in decades...
needless to say that this little gem is by far, rarest than their EP's.... M- copy!
